Insanity is the right word. This is really impressive! I've never been very good at environments, but this makes me want to try harder because they can be so cool.

Just a question -- what pixel dimension did you work in for this one?
it's actually only done in 32x32 pixels. Robh is like one of those crazy people who paint the bible on the head of a pin...only he does it digitally. He's insane I tell you.
The guy sounds like a wild man. A Crazy-but-talented wacked-out lunatic. Now: how big was the canvas? :)
i usually keep these sketches in the 2000 by 1200 pixel range at 72 dpi

whats baffling to me is how someone can so readily embrace a kind of retro-cartoony look and a realistic landscape style. I've rarely seen people who do both.

Your working is F-ING incredible man. Love the range and style to what you do. . . it's a wonderful amount of variety. From animation related stuff, to complex machinery and sci-fi related pieces, to the realistic out-of-doors pieces . . . I am blown away man. What are the biggest breakthroughs that helped you clean up your work and make it look more hand-painted? (i.e. bush tips, opacity changes, layers...?)
